How's Your Day Going?

Did you have trouble getting out of bed?

Do you have a stiff neck?

Did you wash your hair and couldn't do anything with it?

Does your new diet not seem to be working out?

Did you pull a muscle while exercising?

Did the hat you bought look better on you at the store?

Did you get caught in the rain?

Did the food you had for lunch not agree with you?

If any of these things have happened to you today, then I hope your day gets better! If not, then just remember IT IS FRIDAY! And it is HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!

EVERYTHING is a Toy.

Yes, he found a tampon in the diaper bag and he was quite content to play with it for a while, so play he did. Isn't it great that everything can work as a toy? Oh, and the dinosaur on his shoulder is a hand puppet we bought for him today. He could care less about that, but the tampon was cool.

Food for Thought

"[God] has infinite attention to spare for each one of us. He does not have to deal with us in the mass. You are as much alone with Him as if you were the only being He had ever created." -C.S. Lewis

I copied this quote from my sister-in-law's blog. I love it. I really needed some food for thought today. Especially spiritual food for thought. Do you ever get in a spiritual rut and can't quite figure out (or motivate yourself) to get out of it. I have been feeling this way lately. I feel a little separated from God and a little saddened by my lack of spirituality. I continually have to remind myself that this is life...spiritual ups and downs...but I also know that if there is a feeling of estrangement from God, then this is something I need to fix. I heard a quote once that said something like, "If there is problem between man and God, then there is no question who needs to correct it because God is perfect." I can't remember who said that but it has motivated me once again to set some spiritual goals. It is time to get out of the rut and be the woman God wants me to be. So here are some goals I am going to work on...

1. Personal Prayers. This is easy to forget when Berkeley and I pray together so often, but it is one of the things I really need the most.
2. Personal Scripture Study. Diddo to #1. My specific goal here is to read with purpose. I used to write down questions I would have as I read and then I would seek out the answers. Maybe I will do that again.
3. Temple Attendance. My life has been so richly blessed because of the temple. I am sealed forever to my spouse, my children, and my family. This means so much to me. After receiving such great blessings, why would I withhold those blessings from others waiting for them? The temple provides peace and clarity in my life which I can always use more of.

One thing I love about the gospel is that we can never be complacent. There is always something to work on, always something to learn, always something to do. It's time to re-commit myself.

Pumpkin Patch

Every year, the Ward family goes to the Farmington Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. We went on Saturday October 17 and we had a fun time. We were sad that some of the family couldn't make it this year. Sterling, Karl, Chris, and the Palmer family were not there this time. Our friends Doug and Jessica came along and it was a lot of fun to hang out with them. Here are some pictures of the day.

Here is a picture of Jessica pretending to eat the grotesque squash we found. If you look closely at the reflection in Jessica's sungalsses, you can see that Berkeley is trying to eat it too.

Early Bird Asa

Asa loves the morning. He wakes up in such a happy mood and it is so cute to wake up to him babbling and rolling around in his crib, even if it is early.

The Happenings

I don't know...this blog post title sounds like it should be the name of a scary movie...but don't worry, this is just a little update. My blog has become pretty ho-hum boring lately. It's like I can't think of anything cool or interesting to write about. Then I was reminded by my friend Lexi that your blog really should be written for yourself, although others read it, but if it is cool to you then that's all that matters. I sometimes worry about posting everything about Asa, but in reality, he is my life, so there it is. Anyway, life is going on like normal. I am now a Weber State Wildcat. Yes, I finally made the transfer from UVU to Weber. I start school again in January to finish up the Eled program. I am really excited to finish but also a little apprehensive about how to juggle school, homework and Asa while Berk is gone for Tech School. Luckily I am surrounded by wonderful family that are willing to help and support me. Wow, isn't family a blessing? Berkeley is working, working, working. I am so great to him for allowing me to stay at home and be a mom. I know it is hard for him to work everyday and only have a little time in the evenings to spend with us. The weekends are always so great when we can have full days together. I am so grateful that I married such a good guy. I have been trying to come up with ideas of worth-while things to do during my time at home. Of course I spend all of Asa's awake time with him, but when he naps, I need something to do. I am really trying to incorporate a good session of scripture study in daily. I also would like to find a craft or a hobby to work on over a period of time. Any ideas? Also, I need friends. SO....any of you friends out there that read my blog, even if we haven't seen eachother in a while...please please let's organize a weekly playdate or something. We can get together and also bring others we might know to join. It would be great to see old friends and meet new people. Anyway, life is going well and we are doing well.

Viewmont Powderpuff 2009

I had the wonderful honor of watching my brother dressed up as a trashy cheerleader cheering for the powderpuff game! It was great! We also watched his friend, Beth, play for the senior team and she did a great job! Enjoy the videos and pictures.

Stolen Post

So my friend Lexi put this on her blog and I thought it was hysterical! Here is an explanation of the video in her words... "Literal version of an already psycho video. I wonder what happened in the planning meeting for this video - "OK, guys, let's set this love song to possessed choir boys, ninjas, and gymnasts. It will be perfect!"

Thanks for the good laugh Lexi! You always find the best stuff to put on your blog!
